The Salem Conference Center Project utilized state of the art Mechanical and HVAC systems including;

An in-floor radiant heating and cooling system. The in-floor system is used to supplement the heating system in the winter and then automatically switch over and provide supplementary cooling system in the summer. This is one of the first projects on the west coast to utilize an in-floor system for both heating and cooling. The in-floor system required that over 30,000 feet of flexible plastic pipe be placed below the rebar and cast into the concrete floor with no joints made in the pipe in the concrete.

A large air to air Energy Recovery Unit, which utilizes a refrigeration cycle with no moving parts.

The use of natural ventilation and shading; The HVAC control system utilizes information from an onsite weather station to open and close operable windows and shades based on ambient conditions such temperature, wind direction and speed and solar radiation gain.

Two first generation chillers, which utilize frictionless magnetic bearings to reduce noise and vibration while increasing efficiency.
